Please give us some detail!
The exclamation problem:
Users frequently enter support channels and make exclamations like these:
DesperateUser123:
PanickedUser321:
AngryUser456:
AnnoyedUser654:
It takes longer to receive meaningful assistance when posting these sorts of messages since they are almost impossible to directly respond to.
Consider what is actually being asked.
SupportSeeker789:
People are less likely to try to answer this 'question' because it is not a question, it is an exclamation! Exclamations can pertain to anything.
The solution:
Asking for help is an admirable (and useful) thing to do! Problems do come up, and nobody can solve them on their own. But please provide your potential helpers with enough information to start solving your problem.
Please ask a question!
It's a good idea to include details such as:
- What were you trying to do?
- Where were you trying to do it?
- What's your platform? (windows, etc.)
- What version of the project are you using?
- Did you receive any error messages?
- Stack traces are really helpful!
